Meta Ray‑Ban smart glasses reportedly sold over 1 million units. That sounds like the start of something big. But let’s look closer.
What do those glasses actually do well?
Capture photos and videos hands‑free
Play audio and answer calls
Show basic notifications
What don’t they do?
Heart rate or blood oxygen monitoring
Sleep tracking
Step counting or fitness logging
In other words, they’re great for consuming information and capturing moments. But they do almost nothing for health – the #1 reason most people buy a wearable today.
As a factory that manufactures smartwatches and smart wearables, I watch this space closely. My take for the next 3 years: complement, not replace.
Most people won’t sleep in smart glasses. But they will wear a watch to bed for sleep tracking. You can’t reliably measure HRV or SpO2 from your temple – at least not yet.
The future isn’t either/or. It’s a wearable ecosystem – glasses for eyes and ears, watches for the wrist and health.
We manufacture both. And we help distributors build the complete wearable lineup – smartwatches, smart rings, and yes, smart glasses.DM me if you want to see our latest collection for both of them.
