After years of working with smartwatch buyers across different markets, I’ve noticed something interesting: in 2026, consumers are not simply asking for “more features.” They are becoming much more selective about how a watch looks and feels on the wrist.
In Mexico and Brazil, I often see stronger interest in large displays, bold cases and rugged styling. A smartwatch that looks powerful, sporty and ready for outdoor use can create a stronger visual impact. This fits well with consumers who want technology to be visible rather than discreet.
In parts of Europe, especially France and Spain, another direction is emerging: lighter, cleaner and more traditional-looking designs. Some buyers still appreciate the familiarity of an analog-style dial, while adding smart functions underneath — the idea behind the Hybrid Smartwatch.
From a supplier’s perspective, I don’t think one style will replace the other.
The opportunity in 2026 is understanding the Aesthetic Preference of each market.
For Latin America: bold, rugged and expressive.
For parts of Europe: minimal, elegant and discreet.
The best smartwatch is not necessarily the one with the longest feature list — it may simply be the one that looks right to the person wearing it.
