After years of working with smartwatch buyers from different countries, I’ve learned that the answer is rarely the same everywhere.
When buyers come to us, they often ask about the latest features first — AI, GPS, health sensors, Bluetooth calling, AMOLED displays and so on.
But when we discuss what actually helps a product sell, the conversation often comes back to a few practical things: battery life, reliable health tracking, comfortable design and useful connectivity.
Interestingly, I’ve also noticed a growing split in the market.
Some consumers want a simple, screenless wearable they can wear all day without constant notifications.
Others are looking for a more powerful smartwatch with GPS, better sports tracking, longer battery life and more advanced health insights. Recent industry data also points to stronger interest in both screenless trackers and feature-rich sports watches.
And AI is becoming more visible, but I don’t think consumers necessarily want “AI” just for the label. They want it to solve something useful — quicker information, smarter health insights or easier interaction.
From my experience, the most important question for a smartwatch brand is therefore not:
“How many features can we add?”
It is:
“Which feature makes customers say: I actually need this?”
I’d love to hear from buyers and distributors here:
What smartwatch feature do consumers ask for most in your market in 2026?
Battery life? Health monitoring? GPS? Calling? AI? Or something completely different?
